Beyond the Road
Each athlete is as uniquely valued and loved. Their experiences, the ups and the downs, shape who they are today. And these become a story that can encourage and inspire one another. Here to celebrate the athlete’s spirits, for the things beyond the road that is keeping us running.

Marathon Dream
Marnie raced in the Melbourne Marathon and finished in 3rd place with an incredible time of 2.31.55 (a massive 5min 26 sec PB). There is always something special with a marathon race. Although I was not there to witness this moment, I joined Marnie for her recovery run to hear about her story and her upcoming goals.
Oliver White
Meet Oliver, and this is his story at the NSW All Schools Champs. Oliver was one of the athletes I take notice of at every meets, of his determined face, powerful strides and big improvements in the recent year. And after these photos, I was even more curious to hear what's going on in his mind.
Xavier Perry
Meet Xavier, and this is his story at NSW All Schools Championships. The joy and energy within him and his friendships on the track was something I couldn’t take my eyes off.
Jess Burke & Zach Johnson
Meet Jess and Zach and this is their Sydney Harbour 5K Story. It has been a long journey for Jess towards her sub 20 goal. It was such a beautiful scene to witness as they worked together for this moment, crossing the line together on 19:51.
Sam Hopper
Meet Sam, and this is his story leading up to his debut marathon at Melbourne Marathon Festival. 9 days before the race, I visited him during his taper workout session at Gore Hill Oval with the Delta crew.
Sam Dunnett
Meet Sam (@sam.dunnett ), a 19 year old runner from Victoria. This was his first race back after 2 years of injuries & surgeries, and he finished 2nd (8:23) in the B race. What a comeback!
Aynslee Van Graan
Meet Aynslee (@aynsleeminnaar ), the 2021 NSW 3000m Female Champion 🏆She ran a 9:07 (a massive 26 sec PB). But what is more admiring is her perseverance in the past months and her change in mindset that led her to where she is today.
Holly Campbell
Holly and her group train at ES Marks every Tuesday. It was great to see many training groups back at the track in preparation for the upcoming track season.
Sota Maehara
Meet Sota, and this is his story at the Narrabeen track meet hosted by @sydneyathleticsacademy. It was the first post-lockdown opportunity for everyone to race again. Some great performances but I am sure to many, it means a lot more than just a good result.
Emma Mahon
This is Emma (@emmaamahon ) and she is training for the 800, 1500 and 5000m in the upcoming track season. I asked her to share about her recent workout with Run Crew.
